External cladding options for your new home or renovation

The selection of external cladding is just as important as the design of your new home or renovation.  The performance of the external cladding will impact the performance of your home.

Energy Aspect Living has worked with various external cladding options, and we are always open to try new products.  Often, a combination of different external cladding options are incorporated into a home.

...metal sheet

installed vertical or horizontal and available in a range of colours and profiles.

...fibre cement sheet

comes in a range of profiles and can be finished by paint/sealer or render products.

...autoclaved aerated concrete panels

a good insulating external cladding option that is trowel finished and painted.

...timber

a wide range of timber species and profiles are available.

...composite blocks or bricks

an example is Timbercrete® - a block made from recycled timber waste (local sawdust), sand and cement.  Locally manufactured in South Australia this block comes in various sizes and finishes.

...other options
there are many different options when it comes to external cladding including stone and brick, however thermal breaks will be required if using these features externally.

It is important to select the right material for your home design to ensure that your home will be as energy efficient as it can be.
